keeping your hair fresh

1. Wait Before Washing

  • Hold off washing your hair for at least 48–72 hours after coloring. This gives the color time to fully set in the hair shaft.

2. Use Sulfate-Free Shampoo & Conditioner

  • Sulfates can strip color. Opt for color-safe, sulfate-free products specifically formulated for dyed hair.

3. Wash Less Frequently

  • Try to wash your hair 2–3 times a week. Over-washing fades color faster.

  • Use dry shampoo between washes to keep hair fresh.

4. Use Cold or Lukewarm Water

  • Hot water opens the hair cuticle, which can cause color to wash out. Rinse with cool water to help seal in color.

5. Limit Heat Styling

  • Excessive heat can fade color. Use heat protectant sprays and keep tools on low heat settings.

6. Protect Hair from the Sun

  • UV rays fade color. Wear a hat or use UV-protective hair products when you're out in the sun.

7. Avoid Chlorine and Saltwater

  • Chlorine and salt can strip color. Wear a swim cap or use a leave-in conditioner or protective oil before swimming.

8. Deep Condition Weekly

  • Color-treated hair needs moisture. Use a deep conditioning treatment or hair mask once a week to keep it healthy and vibrant.

9. Trim Regularly

  • Split ends make color look dull. Trim every 6–8 weeks to keep hair looking healthy and vibrant.
